In Russia, Utility Workers Will Be Tested with a New IT Platform

A new digital testing system streamlines employee training in public utilities and provides instant feedback on performance.
A new digital tool for evaluating the knowledge of public utility workers has been launched in Orenburg, Russia. Employees of Rosvodokanal, one of the country’s major water utility companies, will use the system to prepare for the national 'Master-2025' professional competition.
But this is no ordinary multiple-choice quiz. Instead, the system employs an IT-powered testing interface, developed by the Orenburg College of Economics and Informatics, to simplify the process. Users don’t need to type out their answers. The interface is designed for maximum usability—saving time and allowing participants to think more deeply before responding.
Tests will be taken collectively, by full teams. Although the system maintains anonymity, each user will be able to see their final score and review any mistakes they made.
Rosvodokanal, a private operator in Russia’s water supply and sewage sector, serves 7.8 million people across multiple cities. The company has consistently embraced IT innovation, deploying technology to automate infrastructure, streamline digital paperwork, and train employees more effectively.
