MegaFon Provides Connectivity on Moscow Metro’s Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Line
The network is available at all new stations and in the tunnels.

MegaFon has successfully connected mobile service and internet access on the first section of Moscow Metro’s new Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Line. They have been available to passengers since the line opened.
The operator’s engineers installed and configured all the necessary telecommunications equipment in advance. Antenna systems provide coverage in station lobbies and on platforms, while high-frequency leaky feeder cable is used in the tunnels between stations. The equipment supports 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity.
“Launching a new metro line requires telecom operators to be ready before the first passengers arrive at the stations. The work has to be coordinated with construction of the transport infrastructure itself, so we install, configure and test the equipment in advance. This allows us to have the network ready for normal traffic when the section opens and provide uninterrupted connectivity along the entire route,” said Mikhail Prakhov, MegaFon’s director for development in the Moscow region.
