More Belgorod Residents Are Applying for Passports Through Gosuslugi
Since the beginning of 2026, more than 13,600 residents of the Belgorod Region have applied for Russian passports through the Gosuslugi portal. The service was launched as part of the Data Economy national project and significantly simplifies the application process.
The online service is available for routine passport replacement at the ages of 14, 20 and 45, as well as after changing a surname, first name or patronymic. Applications can also be submitted through the portal if a passport has become unusable, has run out of space for official entries, or if a person's appearance or place or date of birth has changed.
The system guides users through each step of the process, reducing the time needed to complete the application forms and making it less necessary to visit government offices in person.
The authorities also note that the procedure remains unchanged if a passport is lost or stolen: applicants must make an appointment in person and submit an application to a division of the Interior Ministry. In all other cases, most of the procedure can now be completed remotely.
