Novosibirsk Region Leads Russia in Connecting Rural Areas to High-Speed Internet and Reliable Communication

Digital infrastructure is transforming life in remote communities, boosting social development and creating jobs.

Even the most remote corners of Russia are getting access to high-speed internet and stable communication, and one of the leaders in this effort is the Novosibirsk Region in Siberia. Statistics show that the region ranks among the top in the country for providing fast internet and quality connectivity to residents in hard-to-reach areas.

Last year, 4G coverage reached 41 rural settlements, and in just the first half of this year, another 24 were connected, bringing service to nearly 3,500 people. The program is set to continue, with plans to connect 51 more villages by 2026.

Reliable communication and internet access in rural areas do more than just provide convenience. They drive social and economic growth, bring digital tools to schools and hospitals, and open the door for new industries. This, in turn, helps local economies thrive and creates new jobs for residents.
