Orphaned Children in Russia to Learn Smart Farming in High-Tech Greenhouses

Children in the Russian city of Cherepovets will begin training in agricultural professions using smart greenhouses equipped with digital technologies.

In Cherepovets, orphaned children will soon start hands-on training in agriculture through smart greenhouses at the 'Our Children' center. The program, launching in September, will introduce young students to the fundamentals of plant care and agri-tech operations. Two fully equipped smart greenhouses are being installed, alongside new equipment like microgreen growing racks, laptops, and trimmers.

Beyond hardware, significant attention is being paid to the instructors. Teachers underwent specialized training at the Dairy Farming Academy and are currently developing a comprehensive curriculum. Classes will be held three times a week and will cater to students of all ages—from elementary school children to high school seniors.

The greenhouses, powered by digital technologies and agro-robots, are intended to spark curiosity about farming and provide career guidance. The goal is to inspire students to pursue agricultural studies in college and contribute to the sector.

According to the team at 'Our Children,' the integration of cutting-edge agri-tech will make the program both educational and engaging for the students.
