Robot Guide Welcomes Visitors to Interactive Quest at Moscow’s VDNKh

In the ‘Geology’ pavilion, Professor Boris Zemelkin invites guests to join a digital biology quest where they can help ‘save the planet.’
A robot named Professor Boris Zemelkin has debuted at the ‘Geology’ pavilion of Moscow’s VDNKh. Created by the State Biological Museum named after K. A. Timiryazev in collaboration with the Skolkovo Innovation Center, the robot serves as a guide for an interactive biology quest.
Zemelkin is already known as a high-tech guide capable of leading tours and engaging in conversations with visitors. Now, his role expands with an immersive storyline in which museum guests work together to protect nature.
According to the plot, a harmful organism has damaged the ‘formula of life,’ and participants must restore 12 key traits of living organisms by exploring the exhibits in an interactive format.
The VDNKh press service notes that the quest is designed for a broad audience, blending elements of science, gaming, and modern technology. In the future, the robot guide will be featured in other museum programs, and developers are preparing a major update that will include both offline activities and online educational projects.
