Russia Begins Mass Production of Logistics Robots

With demand growing, output could reach 2,000 smart machines a year.
Russian logistics systems integrator Komitas has launched full-scale production of cargo-sorting robots at its facility in Solnechnogorsk. Before hitting the assembly line, 60 units underwent trials at client warehouses, proving their broad functionality and readiness for commercial deployment. The company says its production capacity can scale to 2,000 robots annually if market demand rises.
Komitas notes that its machines build on years of experience in warehouse automation, offering a response to the country’s rising appetite for “smart” logistics and high-throughput operations.
Beyond sorting robots, the company plans to invest in the serial production of robotic storage systems based on 3D shuttles and high-bay stacker cranes. To support this expansion, Komitas is considering a site in the Stupino Kvadrat special economic zone.
