Russia Debuts Smart Underground Loader for the Mining Industry

The newly released ATACH PDM-7D, a seven-ton mining loader, is built for harsh underground environments and already in use at multiple sites across Russia.

Russian manufacturer StalProm has developed and launched serial production of the ATACH PDM-7D, a load-haul-dump machine engineered for underground mineral extraction. According to dprom.online, the vehicle is equipped with a modern digital interface and is already operational at five mining enterprises in Russia.

The loader is designed to function in extreme conditions, including temperatures ranging from –20 to +40°C, high humidity, and waterlogged environments. Its construction features reinforced articulated joints, an automatic lubrication system, and a cab that meets ROPS/FOPS safety standards.

Key options include a quick-change mechanism for attachments, allowing the machine to switch between loading tasks and tunnel construction. It also supports remote control via a dedicated console and integrates smart gas monitoring and fire suppression systems.

StalProm is also working on a 10-ton version of the loader with an upgraded cab and climate control. Testing of the new model is set to begin at the end of 2025.
