Russia to Develop AI Assistant for Utility Infrastructure

A new joint project between a major Russian polymer company and MIPT aims to bring predictive AI tools to the utilities sector.

Russia’s Polyplastic Group and the Artificial Intelligence Institute of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) have launched a collaborative project to build an AI-powered assistant tailored for the utilities sector. The announcement came during the 10th Digital Industry of Industrial Russia (CIPR-2025) conference.

The initiative focuses on predictive maintenance models for polymer pipeline systems, as well as AI agents to provide technical support for complex infrastructure. The team also plans to explore software testing automation through robotics.

According to Polyplastic, MIPT’s experience in artificial intelligence will help fast-track the creation of effective AI tools. The new solution is expected to be integrated into the company's SVOD system to streamline workflows and boost operational efficiency.
