Russian Nuclear Plant Launches Platform to Crowdsource Production Improvements

Atommash employees have already submitted 90 ideas through a new digital system aimed at streamlining operations and boosting workplace safety.
Russian machine-building company Atommash has introduced a new platform to gather employee suggestions for improving production processes. Workers can submit their ideas via mobile phones by scanning a QR code. The initiative is especially popular among shop-floor staff who lack corporate email access.
IT specialists at the plant developed the service in collaboration with the Production System Management team of Rosatom. The platform is built on the 1C:Document Management system, which allows for digital submission of ideas, end-to-end tracking of their implementation, and generation of performance statistics.
In addition to cutting down on paper use, the system has halved the time it takes to process suggestions.
So far, 90 innovative proposals have been implemented, including 23 related to safety. Management has doubled the financial rewards for accepted ideas, significantly boosting employee motivation.
