Russian Schools to Be Equipped With Secure Wi-Fi and Surveillance Systems

A new initiative in Russia’s Novosibirsk region will bring secure internet and modern video surveillance to all local schools and colleges.
Schools and colleges across Russia’s Novosibirsk region will soon be equipped with secure Wi-Fi networks and state-of-the-art video surveillance systems, according to First Deputy Governor Yuriy Petukhov. He shared the news during the 10th International Conference on the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia.
The regional government plans to install protected internet access in all classrooms and lecture halls, while upgrading entryway monitoring with new surveillance cameras. The goal is to ensure complete oversight of everyone entering and exiting educational institutions.
At the same event, Russia’s Ministry of Digital Development praised Novosibirsk for leading the country in effective digital transformation governance.
Petukhov also spoke about integrating artificial intelligence technologies into public administration and other strategic sectors. The region is working to improve connectivity in small rural villages and continues to prioritize support for its local IT industry.
