Russian software developer Astra Group has presented a new version of its data storage and recovery system, RuBackup 2.8, the company’s press service said. The update is designed to simplify lifecycle management for backup copies. The interface for policy management and global scheduling has been refreshed, giving administrators tighter control and faster diagnostic tools.

The software now allows administrators to manually trigger backup policies. According to the company, RuBackup 2.8 also supports multithreaded backups and file group management. A new utility enables remote configuration of server and client components via SSH. Mail system modules have been updated as well, making work with different file systems significantly easier and more convenient.

Confidence in Any Situation

As Andrey Kuznetsov, chief executive of RuBackup, a company within Astra Group, noted, “reliable backup is not an ‘insurance policy just in case’, but confidence in business continuity under any circumstances.”

He added that with the RuBackup 2.8 release, the system has been brought closer to customers’ real-world operational needs.

“Our goal remains unchanged – to ensure that data is always restored on time, so IT teams can focus on development rather than dealing with the consequences of failures,” Kuznetsov said.

Russian developers have presented a powerful, versatile, and efficient solution designed to protect data in modern corporate IT infrastructures.
