Yandex Steps Into Wearable Tech With AI-Powered Headphones

Russia’s biggest tech company is moving beyond smart speakers and home gadgets, launching its first line of wearable devices deeply integrated with an upgraded AI assistant.

Yandex, Russia’s largest IT company, has announced plans to enter the wearable electronics market. According to Valery Stromov, head of the company’s Alisa and smart devices division, the first product to hit the market will be Russian-made headphones designed to work seamlessly with Yandex’s next-generation AI agent.

Unlike traditional voice assistants, the updated Alisa—built on a new conversational AI model—can autonomously perform tasks, analyze data, structure information, and even learn from past interactions.

Planning on the Go

The new headphones will allow users to communicate with Alisa hands-free, without ever taking out their phones. A simple voice command will let the assistant record a thought, call a family member, send a Telegram message, or create a daily plan. The AI can turn spoken instructions into organized lists, notes, and reminders, accessible both through the Yandex app and directly via the headphones.

Yandex has long been a leader in smart home devices—from speakers and TVs to sensors and cameras. The move into wearables marks the company’s next evolution, positioning it to compete in the fast-growing field of personal AI assistants that live not just in your home, but on your head.
