CAMAR Platform Created to Train and Coordinate Swarms of Robots
A new simulation environment developed by Russian researchers is designed to train and test algorithms that manage thousands of autonomous agents at once.

Russian scientists have developed a platform called CAMAR for training and testing control algorithms for large groups of autonomous agents, according to the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (AIRI).
Flexible and Fast
During robot activity simulations, the platform calculates more than 100,000 movement steps per second. The system can handle 800 or more robots at once, allowing researchers to train algorithms more quickly and test them in complex scenarios involving large numbers of objects.
Flexibility is another advantage of the simulation system. Users can define custom movement rules for agents and create different types of terrain maps.
The platform maintains high performance even under extensive customization. This enables developers to compare different robot control approaches, design hybrid methods, and identify optimal strategies for specific tasks.
The developers say the technology could improve the performance of robots in warehouses and urban logistics systems.
