GigaChat Learns the Yakut Language
Sber’s GigaChat neural network can now understand and communicate in Yakut, a move that Yakutia head Aysen Nikolayev called an important step toward preserving the native language in the digital era.

Users can now interact with the AI assistant in Yakut, search for information, generate texts, and receive help with study and work tasks. The updated model is available free of charge through the web version, Android apps distributed via RuStore and AppGallery, and messaging platforms.
The regional leader thanked specialists, researchers, educators, representatives of the cultural sector, media professionals, and IT experts who participated in the project. He also cited a Yakut proverb: “Tyl baaryn tukhary – omuk tyynnaakh” (“As long as the language lives, the people live”).
