Joshua Nikiema: It Is Important for Us to Learn and Find New Opportunities in Other Countries
Moscow became a meeting place for international experts and IT industry representatives at the 2nd Global Digital Forum. Participants from 120 countries sought common ground, exchanged experience, and explored opportunities for joint work.

Joshua Nikiema, a representative of Morocco, spoke to the IT Russia media platform about how artificial intelligence can be used in public services and why massive datasets are essential for developing language models.
– I am the CEO of a startup focused on developing an AI-powered public services platform. I also hold an academic degree in financing and distributed resources for training.
First of all, I am very impressed by how this forum has been organized. This is my first time visiting Moscow and Russia. I was impressed by both the capital’s architecture and the organization of this remarkable forum. I am particularly interested in the agenda, advances in artificial intelligence, and Russia’s goals in security, including information security in the public sector.
The topic I found most interesting was the use of artificial intelligence in language-related applications, particularly the processing of linguistic resources. We all know about LLMs, or large language models, which are used in systems such as ChatGPT. The forum made me think about just how important the data used to build these models really are.
Unfortunately, Africa faces a certain shortage of digital data and information. That is why it is important for us to learn and find new opportunities in other countries. We can see the high quality of the data available in Russia. In this respect, Russia differs in some ways from countries in the West and East Asia.
I hope I will be able to apply what I have learned in Africa, adapting it to our regional context and, more specifically, to my own country.
