Starting in September 2026, schools in Russia’s Belgorod Region will launch a pilot project called the “Digital Child Profile,” regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

According to medical research, 70 percent of first-grade students are classified as having the highest health rating, meaning they have no diagnosed conditions. By graduation, however, that figure drops to just 30 percent. The project’s goal is to create an individualized care pathway for every child.

The initiative will begin with the creation of a digital medical record for each child. The record will include health data starting from the prenatal period, as well as information from medical checkups, vaccinations, and diagnostic tests.

At the school stage, teachers and parents will receive personalized recommendations. Specialists will determine or adjust academic workload, daily routines, and optimal levels of physical activity, and will also recommend fitness and wellness programs.

Monitoring and Assessment

The project also provides for annual preventive health screenings for children. In addition, every six months after any health issues are identified, specialists will review how recommendations are being implemented and assess changes in a child’s condition over time.

“The project is designed to align healthcare, education, extracurricular programs, sports, and cultural institutions around a single goal: steadily improving children’s health through continuous monitoring and a clear understanding of each child’s development and physical condition,” Gladkov said.
