A new educational program for state and municipal managers with a focus on IT is set to launch at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, the university’s press service said. The program is designed to train specialists capable of managing public-sector processes in a digital economy.

Participants will study how neural networks can be applied to tasks such as forecasting economic trends, assessing the effectiveness of government projects, optimizing spending and monitoring infrastructure.

Expanding Digital Expertise

According to program head Dmitry Timokhin, professor at MEPhI’s Department of Business Project Management, the curriculum will combine economics, law, finance and market theory with digital transformation of municipal processes and neural-network models for analyzing budget policy. Students will also undertake advanced mathematics courses to work with complex management models similar to those used in technical systems. Significant emphasis will be placed on information disciplines such as Information Security and Computing Systems and Networks.

The university also trains business executives and managers with a strong focus on digital technologies.
