Satellite Navigation and Drones Help Tula Region Farmers Achieve Record Harvest
Authorities plan to accelerate the rollout of digital technologies following a record year for agricultural output.

Agricultural producers in the Tula Region generated 168 billion rubles (about $1.8 billion) in output last year, setting an all-time record. Officials said the result was driven by the adoption of advanced digital technologies, according to a regional government briefing.
The region is actively deploying autopilot systems and precision navigation for agricultural machinery. These technologies were used across 70,000 hectares of farmland.
The use of drones is also expanding. Unmanned aerial systems treated 7,000 hectares of crops, including wheat, corn, rapeseed, and oats. The use of UAVs can potentially increase crop yields by up to 20%.
Tula Region Governor Dmitry Milyaev has instructed relevant ministries and agencies to organize training seminars for farmers and develop incentives to encourage the adoption of modern technologies that reduce costs and improve yields.
