Smart Pipes to Deliver Hot Water in Moscow Region Town
A high‑tech innovation is being implemented in Krasnoarmeysk

Work has begun on Sportivnaya Street in Krasnoarmeysk, a town in the Moscow region, to replace part of the hot-water supply system. Instead of conventional infrastructure, crews are installing so-called smart pipes that, according to specialists, could significantly change how utility networks are monitored and maintained.
The new pipes are equipped with a network of sensors that continuously track system performance and transmit data to boiler facilities and dispatch centers. If a malfunction occurs, the system immediately sends an alert. Officials say the technology is expected to reduce the number of major pipe failures and shorten the time needed to complete repairs.
Construction is currently underway along a roughly 300-meter (984-foot) section of Sportivnaya Street, with about 150 meters (492 feet) of piping scheduled for full replacement. Once the project is completed, hot-water service is expected to improve for residents of dozens of apartment buildings on Sportivnaya Street and Komsomolskaya Street.
