Asisana Amune: It Is Important to Prevent AI From Being Used to Commit Crimes
Moscow is hosting the Second Global Digital Forum, where representatives from different countries are sharing their experience with adopting new technologies and discussing the risks they pose.

The participants are focusing on the development of artificial intelligence and the need to regulate its use across different industries. Asisana Amune from Nigeria represents an IT company that develops infrastructure solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. In an interview with the IT Russia media platform, he discussed the challenges of adopting AI in his country, including how to make new technologies accessible to older people:
– Our IT company develops infrastructure for small and medium-sized businesses. We offer clients solutions that help them with their day-to-day work.
We use artificial intelligence. Nigeria is also fairly advanced in this field, and we strive to adopt new solutions in a timely manner. At the same time, we need to make sure that AI is embraced and used not only by young people but also by older generations. Convincing them that they need to learn to use new technologies can be difficult.
At the same time, I believe AI development needs oversight. One session at the forum focused on how this technology should be regulated: through a common framework for everyone or through different approaches. It is important to prevent AI from getting out of control or being used to commit crimes. Clear rules are needed to achieve this.
AI can also be highly beneficial, for example, in education and many other industries. The key is to understand how to apply it and use it responsibly.
Looking back on the forum, I can say that our Russian colleagues have done an excellent job. The program was well thought out, and the forum itself was organized to a high standard. I hope Russian IT professionals will continue to develop their expertise and strengthen cooperation. Nigeria and Russia can work together in many areas.
