Food and other essential goods will be delivered to Russia’s most remote regions through a new federal government information system. The initiative was outlined by Alexey Chekunkov, Russia’s minister for the development of the Far East and the Arctic, during a meeting with regional leaders.

The first module of the digital Severny Zavoz (“Northern Supply”) service was launched in December 2025. The platform is a logistics system designed to build supply plans, aggregate demand from residents, businesses, and carriers, and monitor execution online. The system is intended to provide full transparency across the entire northern supply chain.

In 2025, more than 3 million metric tons of cargo were delivered to remote areas across 19 regions. In 2026, the plan approaches 4 million metric tons. Digital services are expected to make these deliveries faster and less costly.

According to the minister, the government also plans to develop e-commerce services in Arctic territories. These platforms are expected to reach even the northernmost settlements in the near future.
