Russia to Build Unified Cyberdefense Network for National Postal Infrastructure

A coalition of 20 Russian cybersecurity firms is teaming up with the national postal service to launch a large-scale project known as the Postal Cyber Shield.

Russia is launching a unified national cybersecurity initiative aimed at protecting the country’s postal infrastructure. The project, called the Postal Cyber Shield, brings together around 20 of the country’s top cybersecurity firms, who have signed a collaboration agreement with Russian Post, the nation’s primary postal operator, TASS reports.

Over the next three years, the consortium will work to create an integrated cyberdefense system covering all of Russian Post’s digital assets nationwide. Participating companies will collaborate on advanced security solutions, sharing technologies and best practices to enhance product performance and resilience.

Russian Post will serve as the initial testbed for deploying next-generation cybersecurity methods capable of defending against increasingly complex threats.

Cybersecurity has become a top national priority in Russia. At the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Vineet Kumar, director of India’s CyberPeace Foundation, warned of rising global risks—including state-backed DDoS attacks targeting critical infrastructure.

In parallel, Russia’s Ministry of Energy continues to invest in sector-specific cyberdefense strategies. Homegrown solutions are also being exported to allied nations as part of Russia’s broader digital security push.
