Saratov Region Forestry Enterprises to Receive New Equipment
The region continues to equip its forestry institutions with modern machinery.
As regional Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Konstantin Doronin reported, forest firefighting teams are already fully equipped with everything they need, but procurement of machinery continues.
"The subject of forest firefighting tactics and equipment is no simple matter. To do this professionally requires specialized knowledge, skills, and, of course, serious equipment. As I have said, our forest firefighting teams are fully equipped with everything necessary. In recent years, first under the national Ecology project and now under the national Environmental Well-Being project, we have purchased a large amount of modern machinery in accordance with federal standards," the minister said.
According to him, procurement will continue this year. The plan is to acquire ten video cameras, two all-terrain vehicles, one UAZ forest firefighting truck, and one quadcopter. Drones are used in firefighting, reconnaissance, and patrolling, and also help detect violations in hard-to-reach forest areas.
