AI-Powered Reading App With Book Clubs Launches in Russia
The test version of WB Knigi is now available across platforms

A new reading app has launched in Russia, combining an online bookstore with a digital library. The WB Knigi (WB Books app) service features two main sections. A storefront offers printed books that can be added to a Wildberries cart and ordered with delivery, while the digital library provides access to e-books and audiobooks directly within the app. Users can already read and listen offline, sync progress across devices, and save curated collections by genre.
The developers position the app as more than just a reading tool. Future updates are expected to introduce educational services, text digitization features, and AI assistants.
A Space for Community
RVB CEO Tatyana Kim said the service is designed not only for discovering books but also for social interaction.
Development and Updates
Testing of the app began in fall 2025, when a promotional subscription priced at 1 ruble (about $0.01) for the first month was introduced. The app has since received several updates on RuStore, including improvements to audiobook playback and the addition of a feedback feature.
The launch comes amid growing demand for legal digital content. RVB aims not only to compete with existing reading platforms but also to integrate reading into its broader ecosystem, which already includes logistics, advertising tools, and financial services.
