AI-Driven Shuttle With No Driver Seat Unveiled in Russia
A new passenger shuttle concept powered by generative AI and fully autonomous driving tech showcases how Russia envisions the future of urban mobility.

A Glimpse Into Next-Generation Transport
At the AI Journey 2025 conference, the company Navio presented a concept of its electric Level‑5 autonomous shuttle.
The fully driverless vehicle — with no driver’s seat at all — is designed to transport up to 36 passengers. Its navigation and decision‑making are powered by generative AI, enabling the shuttle to meet SAE’s highest level of autonomy, in which human involvement is not required.
The shuttle runs on electric propulsion, reducing environmental impact, lowering fuel costs, and helping cut noise pollution in cities. A modular platform allows the vehicle to be adapted for different operational requirements.
Solving Key Urban Mobility Challenges
Navio believes that integrating autonomous shuttles into city infrastructure can address a wide range of challenges. These include improving road safety, boosting operational efficiency, optimizing costs, enabling flexible routing, reducing traffic and infrastructure load, and helping alleviate shortages in transportation personnel.
The new concept positions autonomous shuttles as an important part of future urban transport ecosystems — efficient, eco‑friendly, and scalable.
