In Moscow’s suburbs, neural networks are spotting safety violations with 95 percent accuracy, cutting response times from half an hour to just 60 seconds.

In Russia’s Moscow region, artificial intelligence has become a central tool for keeping the construction industry in check. According to the Ministry of Public Administration, IT, and Communications, since its rollout the system has flagged more than 1,800 violations on construction sites, making it one of the largest AI-driven oversight projects in the country’s real economy.

The platform connects 271 surveillance cameras that stream data around the clock. The neural network is trained to recognize 22 types of events—ranging from workers without helmets to the faintest signs of smoke or fire.

Its biggest strength is speed. Where it once took at least 30 minutes for inspectors to detect and report an issue, the AI now automatically assigns tasks to correct problems in real time. Response to potential threats has been reduced to just 60 seconds, preventing many incidents before they escalate.

Today, the system covers 60 percent of all active construction sites in the region. Officials say the success in Moscow’s suburbs demonstrates how AI integration can set a new safety and quality benchmark for the construction industry across Russia.
