Russian Designers See AI as the Next Big Force in Fashion

Industry experts say neural networks are poised to become essential tools for creating fresh collections and predicting trends in Russia’s fashion scene.
Artificial intelligence is steadily weaving its way into Russia’s fashion industry, with leading designers arguing that neural networks will soon be indispensable for generating ideas and shaping commercially viable collections.
Prominent Russian couturier Igor Gulyaev told TASS that AI has enormous potential for trend forecasting and inspiration. “Neural networks can create something new, something that will be in demand. AI will become a popular and useful tool in the fashion industry,” he said.
The shift toward digital tools comes as Russian designers continue to build the country’s global fashion identity. Gulyaev has already announced plans to design a stage costume for singer Yaroslav Dronov (known as SHAMAN), who will represent Russia at the upcoming Intervision Song Contest 2025. The project is being framed as a fusion of craftsmanship, modern aesthetics, and cutting-edge technology.
Russia’s fashion sector, experts say, is showing it can embrace innovation without losing the value of artisanal, hand-made work.
