Russian researchers have built an AI that scans lengthy government reports in seconds, identifying how effectively agencies hit their targets.
Experts at the Russian Technological University MIREA have developed an artificial intelligence program designed to audit government sector reports. The system, powered by a large language model, processes multi-page documents in seconds, extracting key performance metrics and generating summaries.
According to Aidar Kazakov from the university’s Trusted AI Lab, the technology’s uniqueness lies in its ability to factor in the context of the event described in the report. If specific details are relevant, the neural network knows what to look for and highlights those passages. The system is not limited to a single scenario: the same document can be checked against different events, ensuring that correlations are not accidental.
University experts stress that this is one of those cases where artificial intelligence directly benefits society.
