AI to Monitor Air Quality in Russian Industrial Hub
Construction giant TechnoNIKOL is investing in AI-driven monitoring stations to track pollution in real time and link emissions to weather and industrial activity.

The company will spend 125 million rubles (about $1.5 million) to install four automated air-monitoring stations in Ryazan’s Eastern Industrial Zone. The rollout begins by the end of 2025, with all four sites—south, north, west, and northwest—operational by late 2026. Each station will run continuously, taking readings every 20 minutes to track factory emissions and other pollution sources near residential areas and healthcare facilities. The units will be housed in pavilions equipped with life-support and fire-safety systems.
AI will analyze the collected data, mapping how pollutant concentrations interact with weather conditions and industrial output. Officials say the system will allow faster, more targeted responses to spikes in harmful emissions.
