Ingosstrakh has developed and implemented an AI model for processing incoming medical documents. Called IngoRead, it can now successfully recognize up to 97% of the reports received by the company’s contact center and automatically extract the information needed to process requests.

Each year, the insurance company sends up to two million guarantee letters to clinics. Until recently, preparing them was time-consuming because the documents had to be checked manually. To automate this stage, the company developed IngoRead, a solution based on optical character recognition (OCR) and large language models (LLMs). The first component recognizes the full text, while the second analyzes the information and extracts the required data. The system has also been trained to work with a wide range of document types and structures.

“Digital solutions allow us to reduce the time spent on routine operations and direct our specialists’ resources toward tasks where professional expertise and individualized handling of each request are particularly important. For policyholders, this ultimately means receiving information about the approval of medical services more quickly,” said Anastasia Skurikhina, director of Ingosstrakh’s Health Insurance Department.
