Sechenov University Presents Results of Remote Patient Monitoring
A large number of tasks are handled with the help of an intelligent voice assistant.
Specialists at Sechenov University have presented the results of remote monitoring for patients with chronic diseases. The monitoring system covered around 500 people.
The system was implemented at the Ostroumov Hospital Therapy Clinic. Initially, communication with patients was conducted via messengers. In 2025, with support from VimpelCom (PJSC), a voice assistant was introduced into the project, greatly simplifying the work. Whereas patients previously had to manually type out answers to lists of questions, all communication has now shifted to voice mode.
Researchers developed a method for identifying critical conditions in which patient responses are assigned a signal: green — the patient is stable, yellow — the patient requires therapy adjustment, red — an emergency requiring an ambulance. The physician sees this picture on a dedicated screen with color indicators.
As a result of this effort, hospitalizations for heart failure dropped by 56.8%, ambulance calls fell by 87%, and patients with type 2 diabetes achieved better disease control and lower glycemic levels.
