Russia Expands EV Charging Infrastructure into New Regions

Federal EV operator Hyper is launching fast-charging stations in Udmurtia, marking a broader push to make electric transport accessible beyond Russia’s largest cities.

Electric vehicles are gaining momentum across Russia—not just in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also in smaller regions. This week, federal EV operator Hyper, part of the RUSNANO Group, announced it will expand its network into the Republic of Udmurtia.

The first three fast-charging stations are set to open in early June. Since the start of the year, Hyper has doubled its service area, now operating in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Samara, Oryol, and Kaliningrad regions.

The charging stations are built on modern IT platforms and are fully integrated into urban infrastructure. A unified cloud-based service manages the entire network. Both private electric vehicle owners and public transport operators use the stations—highlighting improvements in convenience, quality, and sustainability for Russian transit.
