Russia and China are discussing joint logistics projects involving uncrewed transport, according to Artem Sheikin, a senator representing the Amur region. He said a working group is being formed to address the legal and organizational issues involved in cross-border uncrewed transport between the two countries.

The initiative is strategically significant and opens up new opportunities for cross-border cooperation, Sheikin said. Blagoveshchensk is expected to serve as the project’s anchor point.

Sheikin added that the plan goes beyond testing new devices and focuses on building a unified ecosystem designed to speed up transport between Russia and China.

For All Modes of Transport

The working group, whose membership has been approved at the level of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, will coordinate efforts between government agencies and businesses. It is tasked with presenting concrete proposals to launch cross-border uncrewed deliveries using air, road, sea, and rail transport.

By rolling out these technologies, the two countries aim to reshape cross-border logistics and make regions on both sides of the border more attractive for investment.
