Russia Launches Massive AI Training Program for Government Officials
New online courses aim to accelerate the digital transformation of public administration.

The Russian government has begun training civil servants to use artificial intelligence tools. Specialized online and in-person courses have been developed for federal officials, allowing them to study new technologies without leaving their jobs. The initiative underscores the country’s commitment to modernizing its public administration system through advanced technology—a key step toward adapting state institutions to the demands of the digital age.
The program was launched on the initiative of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, according to Izvestia. He emphasized that the flexible format enables officials at all levels to learn at their own pace. Grigorenko noted that the successful integration of artificial intelligence in Russia depends not only on advanced technology but also on preparing qualified personnel who can apply it effectively.
Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration
The main goal of the program is to boost the efficiency of governance. AI technologies are already saving time and resources in data processing—tasks that once required hours of routine work. One example of successful implementation is the national projects monitoring system, which can predict the risk of project delays with 96% accuracy.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted that the use of artificial intelligence in the public sector also enhances oversight and transparency within government processes.
