Russian Agroholding to Build a High-Tech Poultry Farm Near Moscow
A new poultry complex outside Moscow will rely on artificial intelligence and full automation — a major step toward modernizing Russia’s food production industry.

The Leto Group, one of Russia’s leading egg producers, is investing 6 billion rubles (about $73 million) to build a state-of-the-art poultry farm in the Moscow region. The project, the first of its technological kind in the area, aims to significantly expand production capacity and strengthen the country’s food security.
According to the company, adopting advanced technologies will not only boost output but also ensure a stable supply chain — a crucial factor for both Russian and global markets as demand for food continues to rise.
Construction is being carried out by Belyanka, a subsidiary of the Leto Group, in the Kashira urban district. The complex will include 14 buildings — six for young birds and eight for laying hens — each housing up to 270,000 birds. The facility is expected to launch in 2027, after which Leto’s total annual capacity will reach 1.2 billion eggs.
The new poultry farm’s hallmark will be its full integration of cutting-edge automation. Every stage — from feeding and monitoring to egg collection and sorting — will be handled by AI-driven systems. Machine vision technology will oversee quality control, according to Agroinvestor.
Galina Bobyleva, CEO of the Russian Poultry Union, said the complex represents a new technological benchmark for the industry, noting that no comparable enterprise currently exists in the Moscow region.
