Sergey Aleksandrovsky, head of Aeroflot, Russia’s flagship carrier, officially confirmed plans to roll out internet service aboard its aircraft. The announcement marks an important milestone in the modernization of Russian aviation, promising to elevate customer experience to match international benchmarks.

Speaking at the “Digital Transportation” forum, Aleksandrovsky emphasized that establishing connectivity in the air is significantly more complex than deploying ground-based solutions. The challenge lies in strict airworthiness requirements and the necessity to comply unconditionally with aviation regulations.

The project’s key focus is on operational reliability. In aviation, where safety standards for passengers and crew are exceptionally high, any innovation undergoes rigorous testing. This careful and time-consuming approach, according to the company, ensures that Aeroflot’s renowned safety record remains uncompromised as the new technology comes online.
