Russian Students to See Their Art Transformed into Drone Shows

A national contest will turn children's Victory Day-themed drawings into a skybound digital spectacle powered by drones.

Russia is launching a first-of-its-kind creative and tech-forward contest for schoolchildren, called 'Sky of the Victors.' In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory in World War II, the initiative invites kids ages 6 to 14 to submit artwork—either hand-drawn or digital—that will be transformed into animated drone light shows.

Ten winning entries will be selected from submissions collected through the official platform budvdvizhenii.rf. Children can upload their images in JPG or PNG format until August 10. The chosen pieces will be converted into animated sequences and displayed in a large-scale drone performance.

This competition, according to organizers, is more than an art challenge. It is a patriotic and technological event designed to bridge generations and preserve collective memory in a modern format.

Participants will also receive tech-themed prizes and commemorative gifts.

Hero of Russia and chairman of the youth initiative 'Movement of the First' Artur Orlov emphasized that the project is a way for children to honor war heroes using tools of the future. 'The drone show will symbolize generational unity and the preservation of historical memory,' he said.

The event is jointly organized by drone manufacturer Geoscan and the 'Movement of the First.'
