Russian Studio Cyberia Nova Announces Historical Action Game ‘Zemsky Sobor’

Building on the success of 'Smuta,' Cyberia Nova is set to launch a new historical adventure that reimagines Russia’s Time of Troubles through immersive storytelling and gameplay.

Cyberia Nova, a game development studio based in Novosibirsk and known for its historical action/RPG 'Smuta,' has announced its upcoming release: 'Zemsky Sobor.' Originally conceived as an expansion, the new title has evolved into a standalone game set during the final phase of Russia’s Time of Troubles.

The story centers on Kirsha, a Cossack warrior and companion of Yuri Miloslavsky, returning from 'Smuta.' The game will cover key events from the end of the Time of Troubles and introduce enhanced gameplay systems, including improved combat, stealth mechanics, and heightened interactivity through QTE sequences and mini-games.

'Zemsky Sobor' is scheduled for release on November 4, 2025—a date chosen for its symbolic relevance to the historical events depicted in the game. Like its predecessor, it will launch exclusively on VK Play, and players who already own 'Smuta' will receive the new title for free.

Released in April 2024 with support from grants provided by the Institute for Internet Development (IRI), 'Smuta' was one of the most prominent titles in Russia’s recent game development scene. With 'Zemsky Sobor,' Cyberia Nova expands its historical universe, offering players a deeper dive into early 17th-century Russia.
