Russian Travel App Launches Music-Themed Walking Tours in Moscow

Visitors to Moscow can now explore the city through curated walking routes inspired by rock, rap, punk, and electronic music—ending each journey with a live concert.
Russpass, a Russian digital travel service, has launched a series of music-themed walking tours across Moscow. The initiative, announced by the Moscow Committee for Tourism, maps the city’s cultural history through sound.
Each route is centered around a different genre, such as rock, electronic, punk, and rap, and concludes with a concert related to the theme. The first tour pays homage to drum and bass, featuring venues with expansive dance floors.
The 'Rap Moscow' route highlights the evolution of Russian hip-hop, starting at Gorky Park, where the city’s first rap festival, 'MC Show,' was held in 1991. Stops include the Red October art cluster, the Arma district, the iconic Yama hangout, and neighborhoods favored by contemporary Russian rappers.
The 'Punky, Hoi!' route dives into the rebellious spirit of 1980s Russian punk, taking travelers to the Arbat, Neskuchny Garden, Kaluzhskaya, and Bolotnaya Square—legendary meetup spots for Moscow’s counterculture.
Another offering, 'Rock Tour of Moscow,' leads visitors through sites tied to the country’s rock legacy: the Luzhniki stadium festival stages, Viktor Tsoi’s wall on the Arbat, and the 16 Tons Club on Krasnaya Presnya, known for launching many of Russia’s top rock acts.
The 'Moscow Beat' tour celebrates rock and roll, twist, and reggae, featuring locations connected to these musical movements.
These genre-based tours fuse digital convenience with rich musical storytelling, turning city exploration into a full-sensory cultural experience.
