Russia’s AI Farming Robot Marks Breakthrough in Global Agriculture

After seven years of neural network training, a new AI-powered robot can boost farm profits by at least 25%.

Russia has unveiled its first smart agricultural robot — a domestically developed AI system that is already being hailed as a global game-changer. Developed in Tomsk and refined over seven years of trials in Russia, Belarus, Brazil, and South Africa, the robot uses neural networks to assess crop quality under a wide range of conditions.

This pioneering machine can determine the grade, moisture, weight, and temperature of grain, detect impurities and damage, and recommend ways to reduce losses. It promises to increase agricultural profitability by at least 25–30%.

According to a survey by the industry group InterAgroTech, 95% of Russian farmers say they are in critical need of such a solution.

Designed to assist not just farm owners and agronomists but also machine operators, the robot offers guidance on how to optimize harvester settings for maximum efficiency. The AI system continues to learn and improve with use, adapting to new environments and data.

Experts believe the technology has significant scientific and humanitarian value. In an era of climate change and population growth, such tools could help secure reliable food supplies for the global population.
