Tens of Thousands of Digitized Pages Added to St. Petersburg’s Digital Libraries
The heritage preservation project is being carried out by Elar Corporation and its partners.

Elar Corporation has completed another stage of a project being carried out jointly with the V. V. Mayakovsky Central City Public Library. The team digitized about 74,000 pages from various publications. The materials will be added to the Electronic Library of St. Petersburg’s network of public libraries.
The digital collection includes materials from the holdings of the V. V. Mayakovsky Central City Public Library and other libraries across the city. A significant portion consists of rare old editions, many of which showed signs of age and physical damage, including worn bindings and darkened or yellowed paper. The digitization process preserved all the books’ features, including not only text and illustrations but also autographs and owners’ notes.
