Sber to Help Leningrad Region Students Learn Artificial Intelligence
Sber, the Government of Leningrad Region, and the educational platform Algoritmika have agreed to expand computer science, programming, and artificial intelligence programs in the region's schools. The parties signed a memorandum at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026.

The agreement is aimed at developing digital skills among school students and preparing future talent for the digital economy. As part of the partnership, Algoritmika's educational programs are set to be rolled out more broadly across schools in Leningrad Region. Students will gain additional training in modern technologies, programming, and artificial intelligence.
According to Dmitry Sukhoverkhov, chairman of Sber's Northwestern Bank, the partners already have experience implementing similar initiatives across northwestern Russia. Together with Algoritmika, they have organized educational sessions on AI skills for students and teachers in the Leningrad, Murmansk, Vologda, and Pskov regions.
Participants in the project expect the new phase of cooperation to help introduce modern educational practices on a broader and more systematic basis. The partners say stronger digital skills will help students navigate emerging technologies more confidently and prepare for future careers.
