SPbPU Students Present AI Projects for Nuclear Industry
Students showcased AI-driven concepts at a roundtable focused on expanding the use of digital technologies in the nuclear sector.

Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University, in collaboration with the Institute of Energy and Rosenergoatom, organized a roundtable to discuss further adoption of digital technologies in the nuclear industry.
Students presented a range of reports on how neural networks can be applied to support national energy security. One presentation focused on how algorithms can detect hidden defects and reduce the impact of human error in nuclear power plant operations. Another project explored integrating predictive maintenance, AI, and robotics to forecast equipment wear and prevent failures before they occur. These examples are only a small part of the projects discussed.
The event also served as a learning opportunity for the students themselves.
He added that the students’ projects align closely with current trends in the nuclear industry.
