Sverdlovsk Regional Oncology Center Expands Rehabilitation Capabilities With New Equipment
The facility has purchased 14 units of equipment worth 26 million rubles ($~280,000).
The Sverdlovsk Regional Oncology Center has acquired a new set of advanced equipment for patient rehabilitation. In total, the facility purchased 14 units valued at 26 million rubles ($~280,000).
The new equipment is designed to address a wide range of complications that can arise after cancer treatment, including preventing lymphedema following breast tumor removal, improving joint mobility, restoring sensitivity after chemotherapy and radiation, and helping patients regain speech and swallowing functions after laryngopharyngeal surgery.
The equipment was delivered as part of the Active and Long Life (national healthcare program) and a regional cancer care initiative. The department is fully staffed, and rehabilitation begins as soon as patients are medically cleared. It starts in intensive care with breathing exercises, followed by transfer to rehabilitation equipment.
