Thousands of Russians Register Tractors and Heavy Equipment Online

In Moscow’s suburbs, digital government services are breaking records as residents flock to online platforms to handle vehicle registrations and more.

Since the beginning of 2025, residents of the Moscow region have used the new online service for registering self-propelled machinery about 21,000 times, according to the regional Ministry of Public Administration.

The service allows owners of tractors, municipal vehicles, and agricultural machines to register their equipment, remove it from the registry, update data, or obtain a temporary “Transit” plate—all without leaving home.

Among all digital services in the Moscow region, the most popular has been support for the “Strelka” unified transport card, which lets users confirm eligibility for benefits, order replacements, restore security codes, or exchange faulty cards. In second place is online enrollment in clubs and extracurricular programs. Rounding out the top three are services for the Moscow Region resident’s social card.

Altogether, more than 400 digital services are now available to citizens and businesses, underscoring how far the region has advanced in bringing government online.
