Virtual Assistant to Handle Electricity Meter Readings in Russia
Users can submit data by voice or text through apps and chat interfaces

Residents in Moscow can now submit electricity meter readings via the virtual assistant Alisa on mos.ru, the city’s Department of Information Technology said.
Users can report readings by voice through a Yandex Station smart speaker or send them as text via an app or chat with the assistant. To use the feature, Alisa must be linked to a user account.
A Self-Service Assistant
The service automatically calculates monthly electricity consumption and checks whether the submitted readings are correct. The assistant then transfers the data to an information system that identifies the payer using a unique identifier and records the readings. Since last year, Alisa has also been used to submit water meter readings.
Earlier, the Elektronny dom (Electronic Home) platform introduced a feature that allows users to submit water meter readings using a smartphone camera. Users simply take a photo of the meter, and the system automatically recognizes the digits and fills in the data.
