Russian company Netvision has introduced an intelligent monitoring platform designed to detect traffic violations involving electric scooters.

The neural network analyzes video feeds from urban cameras and identifies various infractions committed by scooter riders with accuracy exceeding 95%. The AI module integrates into smart city cameras and can process images directly on the device using edge solutions. This reduces server load and speeds up system response times.

City authorities also gain access to an analytical dashboard displaying a heat map of scooter traffic, hotspots of violations, and trends based on time of day and day of the week.

“Netvision Micromobility Control can be integrated with external systems, such as data from kicksharing operators, enabling the creation of a unified ecosystem for managing micromobility in the city,” the company’s press service said.

Boosting Safety Without Blanket Bans

The system is scheduled to launch in three Russian regions by the end of 2026. According to Netvision Director Roman Kazachenko, such technology-driven solutions can help improve safety while avoiding excessive restrictions on scooter movement.

This is not the first system designed to monitor road violations. Earlier, Russian company NtechLab unveiled an AI platform for city streets capable of analyzing camera feeds and flagging improper behavior by scooter riders.
