Kabardino-Balkarian State University Master's Student Patents Software for Diagnosing Brain Tumors
The web service uses neural networks to detect signs of tumors in brain MRI scans.

A master's student at Kabardino-Balkarian State University has patented a software application called MedicalAutomate. The web service uses neural networks to detect signs of brain tumors in MRI scans. It also features the latest medical news, user reviews, and a disease reference guide. In addition, registered physicians have access to a set of tools for expanding the service's information database.
The developer began working on the project in 2023. Murat Kiyasov initially developed it as his undergraduate thesis and is now continuing the work as part of his master's studies. The service is straightforward to use: users upload an MRI scan and complete a questionnaire. The image is then classified, the resulting diagnosis is compared with the patient's medical history, and the risk of complications is calculated. The system generates a report containing forecasts and recommendations for the physician.
