AI to Oversee Chest X-Ray Quality in Moscow
The algorithm can analyze medical images across multiple parameters in seconds

Moscow has developed an AI-powered tool to check the quality of chest X-rays immediately after imaging. The neural network can analyze a scan in under 20 seconds and instantly alert technicians if an imaging error is detected, allowing corrections on the spot without requiring patients to return, Deputy Mayor for Social Development Anastasia Rakova told IT RUSSIA.
Quality Control in 17 Seconds
Rakova said AI in Moscow’s healthcare system is now handling not only diagnostic tasks but also quality control. The new tool automatically verifies chest X-ray quality – one of the most common medical procedures – enabling doctors to assess accuracy during the exam itself in just 17 seconds.
Saving Time and Reducing Radiation Exposure
The software will be deployed directly on radiology workstations. The algorithm can analyze medical images across multiple parameters, including full organ coverage, correct patient positioning, and the absence of foreign objects in the scan.
Moscow has been advancing the digital transformation of its healthcare system for more than a decade. Doctors now use over 60 AI-based services across 43 clinical areas.
Earlier reports noted that an AI-powered app for treating dogs was developed in Kaluga.
